Hoop Professionals and Career Tips

Lesson Plan

Students get exposed to careers in the hoop industry. They start their career exploration and see how careers connect to their interests.

Students will:
A) get a better understanding of the variety of careers in the basketball industry.
B) learn new vocabulary words and how to use them.
C) think critically about what it takes to be successful in these careers.
D) learn persuasive writing that shares what they have learned.
E) start their career exploration and learn how it relates to their interests.
F) have academic discussions with their classmates, teammates and peers.

1) Students can watch the video individually, in groups or as a class.
2) Instructor should go over the Vocab words with students. Ask them the meanings and have a discussion to know they have a good understanding of the words.
3) Students completely answer the questions below.
4) Students share what they wrote for #2 and #3 one at a time, in pairs, in groups or whole class.
