Stanford Randle Stanford routs Colorado to take Pac-12 lead
1/14/12 Palo Alto, Calif. -- Stanford Cardinal (15-3, 5-1) moved atop the Pac-12 conference with a 84-64 win over the Colorado Buffaloes (11-6, 3-2) at Maples Pavilion.  The Cardinal shot 52.9% from the field for the game and held Colorado to 42% from the field.
Cal Solomon Dunk Cal battles over Colorado 57-50

1/12/12 Berkeley, Calif. -- On a night full of plenty uncertainties, California Golden Bears (14-4, 4-1)  the only team in the Pac12 with an unblemished home record at 12-0 managed to grind out an ugly 57-50 victory at Harmon Gym against the new kids on the block of the PAC-12, the Colorado Buffaloes.  
Nate Robinson Guard Nate Robinson finds a home at Golden State
1/11/12 Oakland, Calif. -- The newest Golden State Warrior, Nate Robinson, has been getting the run around, literaly, the past year. He started last season in Boston where he played 55 games for the Celtics. Then he was traded to Oklahoma City Thunder where he averaged 3.3 points and 1.5 assists in 7 games to finish the season and playoffs.
Sacramento Coach Keith Smart Keith Smart wins first game as Kings head coach
1/5/12 Sacramento, Calif. -- Keith Smart, the new Sacramento Kings Coach, won his first game as they came back from a 21-point half-time deficit to beat the Milwaukee Bucks 103-100.  The Kings got 25 points in the second half from guard Marcus Thornton connecting on 9-of-15 shots.  He was 1-of-8 in the first half.
Cal Bears dunk Cal holds on to get opening PAC-12 win against USC
By Alanah Anderson 12/29/11 Berkeley, Calif. – Cal Golden Bears held on to a 53-49 home win to open the PAC-12 season against USC. Cal was up 31-19 at half-time but it was a 1-point game with 39-seconds left until sophomore Allen Crabbe connected on three free-throws to give the Bears their final lead.
Stanford Womens Ogwumike #4 Stanford get 42 points from N. Ogwumike to best #6 Tennessee 97-80
By Bi Yu 12/19/11 Stanford, Calif. – #4 Stanford beat up on college rival #6 Tennessee 97-80 behind a 42-point career night from 6-2 senior Nnemkadi Ogwumike. She was relentless playing like a "woman amounst girls" as coach Tara VanDerveer described her play. "This is one of the best performances I've seen at Stanford," VanDerveer acknowledged.
Cal Cobbs three Cal finds firepower from Cobbs to beat Santa Barbara 70-50
By Alanah Anderson 12/19/11 Berkeley, Calif. – The Cal Golden Bears (10-2) shoot 55% behind the arc to coast to a 70-50 victory over the Santa Barbara Gouchos (5-4) in the Pete Newell Classic. Sophomore guards Justin Cobbs and Allen Crabbe hit a combined 66% of their threes 8-of-12. Cobbs, who took up some of the scoring loss with Jorge Gutierrez out with food poisoning, hit 10-of-12 to finish with 25 points.
Sacramento Tyreke Evans Warriors handle Kings 107-96 in preseason opener
By Bi Yu 12/17/11 Oakland, Calif. – The Golden State Warriors got a pre-season win 107-96 over the Sacramento Kings in front of 16,523 at the Oracle Arena. Both teams were happy to get on the court after a month and a half season delay. The Warriors star guards Stephan Curry (22 pts.) and Monta Ellis (18 pts.) led the charge shooting a combined 17-of-28 (60%) from the field. Even more impressive was the 6 and 8 assists respectively.
  Cal, Gutierrez shut down nations leading scorer
12/16/11 Berkeley, Calif. – Jorge Gutierrez controlled both sides of the court and led Cal Golden Bears (9-2) to an impressive 77-57 win over the Weber State Wildcats (6-3). The 6-3 senior guard wasn't impressed that the nations leading scorer, Damian Lillard (27 ppg), was coming to test the Bears best perimeter defensive player. Gutierrez didn’t have any fanfare for the nations leading scorer coming into the Haas Pavilion.
  Paul gets wish signs with LA Clippers
12/16/11 – Chris Paul found a way out of New Orleans to make an early Chrismas present for the Los Angeles Clippers. Commisioner Stern put the kabash on the first attempted trade to the Los Angeles Lakers. Now Paul is going to join rising star Blake Griffith to battle the Los Angeles Lakers for King of Staples Center.
